Our next stop, Arabba, is the Dolomite’s Mecca for cyclists. The area, with multiple famous mountain passes, features regularly in the Giro d’Italia, and is home to an extensive network of MTB and road trails.
The town sits on the route of the famous Sellaronda ride, as well as being a starting point for the Dolomites Bike Day on Saturday June 20th 2026. For one day only, the entire 51km route is closed to traffic and hundreds of cyclists are free to coast along empty roads and tackle the passes of Campolongo, Valparola and Falzarego.

Sellaronda
If Saturday June 20th is spent on the Dolomites Bike Day, then Sunday has to be given over to the famous Sellaronda ride.

Not only that, it is of utmost historic importance, since each of the four passes (Passo Gardena, Passo Sella, Passo Pordoi, and Passo Compolongo) has been included in the route of the Giro d’Italia on countless occasions.
As an introduction to all the cycling routes the Dolomites have to offer, there is no other loop quite like the Sellaronda. It is, literally, a rite of passage for serious cyclists. With the two rides on offer, and the festivities surrounding Dolomites Bike Day, it makes most sense to stay in Arabba itself. Both rides would start from the hotel.
